Can Oxytocin Help in Overcoming Social Phobia?
A research conducted by a highly respectful team of European scientists shows that oxytocin plays one of the major roles in eliminating fears in people suffering from Social Phobia.
Scientists from Zurich University have found that oxytocin or also known as the “love hormone” reduces activity in the amygdala, a part of the brain which is overactive in people suffering from Social Anxiety Disorder (Social Phobia).
Oxytocin, naturally produced hormone, plays an important role in everyday social relations, sex life and maternal bonding.
“We found that oxytocin has a very specific effect in social situations. It seems to diminish our fears. Based on our results, we can now conclude that a lack of oxytocin is at least one of the causes for the fears experienced by social phobics”: said the lead researcher Dr. Thomas Baumgartner.

People affected by Social Phobia (Social Anxiety Disorder) have great difficulties to become trusting of unknown people. In situations when a person decides to trust another person such as business or sexual relationship, the production of oxitocin is naturally boosted.
Social phobics’ brains do not produce the required amounts of oxytocin and therefore it is very hard for them to break the shield of insecurity and suspicion towards the other people. By inhaling the hormone (oxytocin) which has been developed in a spray form, sufferers become more willing to accept social “risks” and experience a substantial increase in trusting behavior.
“Liquid Trust” is a fragrance free spray developed by “Vero Lab”. It is an oxytocin based product and the effects from just one or two sprays can last for hours. “Liquid Trust” was primarily designed for people who want to appear more trustworthy and to improve their chances of achieving successful business or love relationships.
For social phobia sufferers the beneficial effects of oxytocin doubles because by wearing the “Liquid Trust” spray they inhale the hormone themselves and therefore the activity of their amygdala is reduced.
The results of that are significant boost in self confidence and willingness to interact with, and to trust the other people.
